Mr Kelly’s class have been enjoying DEAR Time (Drop Everything And Read) in their classroom. Students choose books from home or the school library and spend dedicated time reading independently. 📖💭 This wonderful daily practice helps build reading stamina and encourages a lifelong love of reading for enjoyment. Ms. Gallagher’s class have been busy young scientists, examining the bacteria that grows on bread and observing how it multiplies over time! 🦠👀 They explored how germs from different objects can affect bread, making fascinating discoveries along the way. What an exciting hands-on investigation into the world of science — well done, boys and girls! 👏🌟

The boys and girls in Mr. Gibbons’ class have been busy travelling back to Ancient Egypt! Using ICT 💻 and AI technology 🤖, they designed amazing pharaoh portraits, carefully choosing different shades of colours 🎨 to make each creation unique and eye-catching. To top it all off, we even learned how to write our names in hieroglyphics! ✍️🔺

A big thank you to Josh from Loughrea Rugby who facilitated fantastic training sessions in our school over the past number of weeks. All of the children had the opportunity to experience and enjoy the sport, developing new skills while having great fun 🏃‍♂️🏉

Well done to our senior and junior teams who took part in the annual Loughrea Credit Union Quiz in St Brigid’s College on Saturday evening 🎉. Both teams performed exceptionally well, and we are very proud of their efforts 👏📚. A huge well done to everyone involved! 💫

We had a wonderful Catholic Schools Week here in Kilrickle National School! 🌟 Our students created beautiful St. Brigid’s Crosses 🌾 and took part in a special prayer ceremony in our local church, joined by members of our community 🙏⛪. Classes also carried out engaging research on St. Brigid and Carlo Acutis✨📖.

Ms. Gallagher’s class used a variety of colours and fabrics  to create these beautiful nests of creativity  🌈✨. Look at the wonderful chickens and chicks  🐔🐥 and all the lovely colours that bring them to life.

The boys and girls in Mr. Gibbons’ room  have been getting very artistic 🎉🖌️. We created lily pads with frogs  🐸🌿 as we prepare for our study of amphibians  this week, and we also designed some very unusual giraffes  🦒🎨 while working with different shades of colour .

The boys and girls in Mr. Gibbons' room  were busy completing some wonderful science circuits  this week 💡🧪. They used paperclips and pins  to create circuit breakers  📎🔩 and worked with batteries and bulbs  🔋💡 to increase the power of the light emitted.

We had a very special visitor to Kilrickle NS today, all the way from the North Pole ❄️🎅 Santa arrived with lots of cheer and brought gifts for all the children, 🎁😊

The boys and girls had a wonderful trip to the cinema today in Ballinasloe. Everyone really enjoyed watching the classic film Home Alone — lots of laughs, excitement, and festive fun all around! 🎄😂

The children in Mr. Gibbons’ class took part in the Cycle Right programme 🚦. It was a great experience, and the children learned all about the Rules of the Road 🛑 and the importance of staying safe while cycling 🪖🚲.

The Junior and Senior Infants have been busy little authors! ✍️💫 As part of the CJ Fallon project “Our Class Book”, they created a wonderful book titled When We Grow Up. ❤️ Each child brought home their very own copy and proudly shared their stories with other pupils in the school. 📖😊
